Deirdre, Mark, and Kira came to visit to share Ada's first birthday! It was great, we made it to the pool, got cake, saw a childhood friend, and went to the beach at sunset...
They landed at 9am on Saturday and after nap we just walked over to the condo complex's pool. Here's Ada ready to go to the pool (she was banging on the screen door before Ty got her) in her new birthday suit from Mormor and Morfar.
The pool was too cold for the girls so we were mostly in the hottub though they both got their legs dunked in the pool a few times
Swimming with daddies
Kira practicing splashing so she can get everyone wet tonight from the bathtub!
In our ongoing search for Indian food (and Thai for that matter) we tried another place. Better than the previous one but a tad spicy. Kira, Mark, and Deirdre have finished and are awaiting...
...Cake time!
Ada was really tired by this time but she still mustered up the energy to eat some cake
Done with cake, trying to stay awake...
On Sunday morning, Laura, Seth, and Savannah came over for brunch. It was pretty cool, the 3 of us were 2 years apart in high school, and our daughters are all 9 months apart. We tried for a picture, yet another effort in baby wrangling. At least Savannah cooperated!
Nap time. Too much going on for Ada to relax in the pack and play so we all napped.
Sunday evening we went to Solana Beach. It was cloudy and cool enough that parking was easy, and the beach wasn't crowded. It was an interesting beach, cliff right near the water. We brought our new portable propane grill and it worked great and was pretty easy to wheel to our spot! (at least Ty didn't complain...)
Ada remembering her love of sand, discovered last summer in Michigan
And proudly finding seaweed!

dinner is ready!
extremely low flying plane...
Wasn't the best sunset but it was pretty nice!
On Monday morning Deirdre, Rachel, Kira, and Ada walked to the park and played. No pictures there. Ada decided to fall asleep on the way so Kira played alone most of the time. Ada woke up at the end, long enough to swing before walking home and heading to daycare and the airport...
