And the rest of the September mish-mash

He looks so calm and happy in this picture. Amazing that cameras can capture that millisecond hidden in the post bath time squirmy-fussies.

There is a really cool children's discovery museum in the area that has a lot of interactive toys/learning experiences. Seth was particularly intrigued by the lego river (there is normally water running down the basin). Since most things go straight to his mouth, keeping the less than pristine legos out proved to be a very hands on experience for Mom and/or Dad as well. 

Ada was also very into the lego river. She did a slightly better job of keeping the legos out of her mouth. The "museam" also gave her a great chance to interact with other kids since the place can get pretty packed. Dad also got a chance to test his patience (he failed the test) since there were plenty of barely supervised kids running around the place putting his precious little kids in possible danger/discomfort.

Another example of how lucky we are to have a happy little brother and a loving and amazing big sister. Ada comes in in the morning and one of the first things she always wants is a smile from Seth, and Seth very rarely has any trouble providing her with what she wants.

Rachel's view from her airplane coming back from a scientific conference in Seattle. Seth and Ada were alone with Dad for a couple of days. Needless to say, they were REALLY happy when she came back home. 

Aaaahhhhhhhhhh!!! I LIKE AVOCADO!

One of our favorite parts of the day is when we review Ada's day and she tells us what she did. She is often vague on the details but it often involves puzzles, balls, letters, songs and eventual discussions of how soon we are going to go visit family or who's birthday is coming up next. Then we sing some songs and do kisses before tucking her in. The current lineup of kisses that Daddy asks from from her include regulie (regular) kiss, eskimo kiss, kee kee kee (where Daddy's beard tickles her neck), and elephant kiss (forehead to forehead with an elephant call).  

Ada had some trouble picking out the correct shoes to wear to compliment her awesome outfit of brown tight fitting shorts and nothing else.

Just like his big sister was, Seth is mesmerized by the spinning laundry. Since we are seemingly running the washing machine anytime we are home, he gets plenty of time to enjoy it. 

"He's grabbing my arm! Aaahhhhh. Make it stop, but not really because  I love the attention from my little brother!"

Looks like these little tykes are not quite awake yet. Good thing they can just cuddle a bit and enjoy their drinks/things to chew on. 

I guess we are going to have to start dressing Seth in girl accessories since he is totally pulling off the green bow and loving it. 

Super moon lunar (total) eclipse (of the heart) as seen from San Diego's Lopez Ridge park. It was much more amazing in person.

Seth was a little more into Rachel's phone than the eclipse. This is also his first experience with shoes...he was rather indifferent...or loved them; his communication is mediocre at best, so we have no idea what he really thought of them.

Ada took a second away from applying deodorant to say hi to Seth and tell him that she likes his (her) pants. Too bad they're different sexes since they can totally wear each other's pants! They have both come home from Gladys's in the other's clothes. Also, Seth has been easily pulling to standing. He started crawling over labor day (he had been close for a while) and then while we were there also decided to pull himself up to standing on their couch. So, we have a little cruiser. Anyone placing bets on age at first steps?

Rachel is thinking she should be folding laundry, but the baby is too cute.
