We had an action packed January. On day 1, Rachel's whole family showed up in San Diego. We rented a great house in Pacific Beach. It had a little play area, a pool and hottub, and it was just a few miles from the beach (close enough that Monica could run there every morning, except the one where Rachel joined with Seth on her back, that was a walk day). It took us a few days to figure out which showers had pressure (too high on the hill?) and to get the pool heated enough to swim, but then it was great.
The play area was a great way to entertain a lot of kids with one or 2 older kids, great cousins!

| The pool was great, especially by the end when it was really warm, and we bought floaties for the older girls so they could just swim around too. Hopefully they'll be able to swim soon... The rock slide was also great. |

We went to the San Diego Zoo. Tim's family hadn't been before.
A few modes of transportation were needed for the younger kids. Seth as usual didn't make it through the day. Thanks for the ride Mama!

| Rachel made everyone go kayaking from La Jolla Shores. forgot to wipe the lens so foggy pic... It was an absolutely amazing and perfect day though. totally flat, which doesn't happen much, and clear too, so we could see Garibaldi and other little fish in the kelp. And of course the sea lions that hang there. |
Very cool that the Women's march happened while Mom/Mormor was in town. So we all braved the insanely busy trolley and made it downtown. We lost all the people we attempted to go with in the process, and didn't hear any speakers, and it was raining so our signs didn't last. But we obviously had a great time anyway and it was a wonderful experience

Happy Birthday Ada!!! We had a little party for her at a new park. It was fun, she got some presents, pretty low key. Not a pretty day, we almost cancelled the outdoor venue but went for it. It started raining as we were unloading at home. Whew!

Ada and Seth not breaking anything at Art's house. Art and Mandy generously offered their house to Rachel's parents while they spent the week in Hawaii. It was nice that they could stay in San Diego for an extra week, we got to see them every day. Generally at our house so kids could go to bed, but one night over there. They were great. Our kids are pretty amazing when we stop and appreciate them.
