July was taken up by a two week trip to visit both families. We first flew to Chicago and drove up to Wisconsin for 4th of July in Whitewater.

The kids slept together on the pull out couch. They're the sweetest.

We went to this great place to eat a town over from Whitewater. It was great but the food took forever to come. had to pull a few stops to keep the kids from disturbing the entire restaurant. Rachel attempting to entertain the littlest by showing them the river outside.

Then they actually went outside for some bench play and photo posing, and we (well, Tim) got a really great one of Ada and Seth.

Followed by a nice one of Mormor and Morfar

We started to play a game of soccer after one of the neighbors spied a bunch of little kids running around and brought over a net and ball. It somehow turned into a game of Uncle Tim is going to get you!

Uncle Tim is victorious over 2 toddlers and 2 preschoolers!!

Another great part of this trip was that Grandma and Aunt Jill came up to Whitewater and stayed at the vacant neighbors house with Tim's family, so we saw them more than we usually get to. Here we are at the parade.

The kids got SOO much candy it lasted the rest of the trip and then some.

We did then spend a few days down in Naperville, but I guess we didn't get decent pictures of that part. 

We flew back to Phoenix for week 2 of the trip. We started the journey up to Vallecito, CO via Flagstaff, where a good friend from Seattle lives. She had a new house and a tiny baby girl Bria so it was a great time to visit.

For some reason we all wore turquoise today to make for a good family picture! The back of Seth's head is especially nice. 

We had one of the best travel days with kids ever between Flagstaff and Vallecito. We drove for a few hours and made some nice stops. Navajo National Monument where we got our first views of cliff dwellings.

The other stop was 4 corners, which was nice to see once but I wouldn't' go out of my way. Cute picture though. We made it to the cabins right around dark. 

Mostly that week we hung out at the cabins and had a great time. We did make a day trip to Mesa Verde National Park, which was great. Grandma Susan has been before so she kept the littlest kids (both Ada and Seth) at home. They would have had trouble with some of the trails and wouldn't have been interested in the tour, so that was definitely for the best.

More Mesa Verde hanging out

The hairdos in the pictures above was likely thanks to Aunt Annie. Here she is doing Ada's, which she loves. Poor girl's Mama doesn't have the skills.

Another day we split into 2 groups and did a few hikes. We went with Grandma and Grandpa and Britters. The kids got tired. Seth got tired enough to fall asleep in the Ergo, so he stayed with us while we kept hiking and Grandma and Grandpa took the girls back to the cabins. Made it far enough to get to a pretty nice view, it was a great hike in the mountains.

The rest of these are back home in San Diego. Ada and Seth looking pretty cute in their new outfits from Mormor and Morfar.

And Ada made a pretty good astronaut at a friends house. We went over for dinner and the kids played dressup.

Ty tried to do Rachel's hair the same as Ada's in this picture. She actually went out on errands it was pretty fun. There is blue and purple chalk in there too that can't really be seen...good job Daddy!
